Navarik Corp is a company that provides software as a service to some of the biggest oil and shipping companies in the world such as BP, Chevron and Shell.
As the User Interface Developer, I play an active role in developing and coding all the front-end design work as well as designing mock-ups. In addition, I create HTML / PDF templates in conjunction with CSS and implement javascript and PHP for different modules used throughout Navarik systems.

Kababayang Pilipino 15th Anniversary Performance, The Centre for the Performing Arts, May 25 2008
One of the projects I'm most proud of involved creating the print materials for the Kababayang Pilipino's 15th year anniversary performance. I was approached by a colleague and was given one month to produce a 48-page program handout, two flyers ad which one was distributed all over the Lower Mainland, as well as the staff t-shirts and name tags worn at the event. This project required selecting an appropriate theme related to the Filipino culture that would remain consistent throughout the makings of the promotional materials.

Business Plan & Magazine, CMNS 375
By far the most fun course I took in SFU was CMNS 375 - Magazine Publishing. In groups of 8 to 10 people, each had a significant role in the project and I was assigned to be the Art Director. I was responsible for coming up with sample magazine pages including the cover, table of contents and a 2-page spread. For the course of the semester, I was in charge of putting together the layout of the business plan that would reflect the purpose of the magazine. In doing so, I sourced various food magazines, analyzed trends and consulted professionals. The final designs were a success, receiving positive feedback and acknowledgements from some of the people in the industry who attended the presentation.
